CranioTOP®

Only a minimum volume of implant material (pure titanium sheet, thickness 0,5 mm) is required even in large cranioplasties. In order to avoid "sinking flap" dislocation and to achieve high mechanical strength, the CranioTOP-cranioplasty is placed with its surface edges overlapping the margins of the skull defect (not into it), secured with minimally few screws (CranioDRIVE) and the integrated lugs for positioning. Superpositioning the cranioplasty upon the defect avoids needing major and risky operative procedures, e.g. dissection of the bone edges and the dura as well as duraplasty can be avoided. The cortex remains spared from manipulation

For example, osteolytic parts of the autologous bone can remain in place if additional dissection is too risky or time-consuming.

The minimal implant volume guaranties a local insensivity against patient exposure to heat and cold, which otherwise commonly results in headaches following more voluminous carbide and titanium cranioplasties manufactured by block-milling, casting or LASER procedures (LASER melting).

An accompanying 1:1 acrylic scale model of the individual cranium and its defect is delivered along with each CranioTop implant - allowing a peri-operative "in-vitro" orientation of the implant, therby ensuring the correct "in-vivo" placement.

Full loading capacity of CranioTop cranioplasties is already present immediately following implantation.

"MR-safe" and "MR-compatible":

Full compatibility with CT and MR imaging techniques, particularly in all clinically relevant MRI sequences.

HTR® Hard Tissue Replacement

In patients with craniomaxillofacial defects, an HTR implant can be created using a CT scan of the patient's anatomy. This process combines CT Imaging and Rapid Prototyping with individual craftsmanship.

Through HTR, Biomet and Lorenz Surgical carry on our corporate-wide commitment to supply Patient Matched Implants on a timely basis.

Our success is based largely upon open communication between the surgeon, sales associate, and Biomet's HTR specialists. We used the most advanced technology coupled with personal attention in designing and manufacturing precise craniomaxillofacial implants, while setting the industry standard for quick delivery.

X-STOP® IPD® Implant
The X-STOP® IPD® Implant is a titanium metal implant designed to fit between the spinous processes of the vertebrae in your lower back. It is designed to remain safely and permanently in place without attaching to the bone or ligaments in your back.

The oval spacer fits between the spinous processes and the wings are designed to prevent the implant from moving.

Warning: The X-STOP® Implant is manufactured from a titanium alloy of metal. Please inform your doctor if you think you are allergic to titanium or titanium alloy.

Caution: The X-STOP® Impant is manufactured from a titanium alloy which is known to produce artifacts if you undergo an MRI exam.
